Get started

Choosing your reference image...

Your reference image is the foundation of your pet portrait

You provide me with a photo of your pet, I bring it to life in colour.

AR-1

The ideal photo will:

TI-1 Show your pet, clearly & in focus

TI-1 Show the pose & expression you'd like painted

TI-1 Be unobstructed & not heavily cropped

Before ordering please email your reference image/s to contact@colourofoctober.com.au

Can I send you multiple photos?

I can combine elements from multiple photos if you are struggling to find the perfect picture. However, please note that the prices quoted on this page are for one design of a pet portrait using one reference image.

Combining features from various photos requires extra time and design work, so additional costs will apply.

Which photo should I choose?

The best advice I can give you is that the best pet portraits are created from the photos you love most.

Why do I need to send you a photo of my pet before ordering?

I ask that you email me a photo of your pet before you place your order, for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, I want to ensure I have everything I need to create a portrait you will adore.

Secondly, if you decide you would like multiple reference images to be used to create your portrait or if I find your reference photo to be blurry, or some of your pet's features are cut off, additional fees may apply.

If this is the case, I like to discuss this upfront, before you've paid your deposit.

I have so many photos of my pet, how do I choose which one to use as a reference image?

If you're having trouble deciding, feel free to send me a few of your favourite photos.

I’m more than happy to discuss with you which photo will work best as a reference for your portrait.

Keep in mind that it is possible for me to combine elements from multiple reference images but this costs extra as it takes longer for me to design the artwork.

Chosen your photo?

Email it to contact@colourofoctober.com.au and I will be in touch shortly to discuss your custom pet portrait!
