The Philosophy behind Colour of October

The Philosophy behind Colour of October

26 years ago, my story began. On the 1st of October, I arrived into this world. And every moment since has shaped me into the person and artist I am today. Every season of change has coloured the way I view the world.

This idea forms the philosophy behind "Colour of October."

Every experience I live is tinting an ever-changing colour. The good. The bad. The ugly. The electric pinks. The deep dark blues. The messy, muddy greens. They're all contributing to an overall picture. The contrast between them, helping me appreciate the good times all the more and keep life's gloominess in perspective.

My growth has been interwoven with my art for a long time. When I became ill all those years ago, so many doors shut. But with my art, I was able to open new pathways and opportunities. When I lost my voice, my art helped me start conversations that kept me going. As my confidence as an artist has grown, so too has my confidence as a person. I wouldn't be who I am today without my art. And I don't believe I would be the artist I am today had my life not taken the turn it did.

What's next for Colour of October?

In this next chapter of Colour of October, I hope to continue highlighting the stories in moments filled with hope, love and joy. Glossing over pain never did anyone any good, but I think it's so very important to take time to appreciate the good- whether that be little things or big things.

I'm really proud that what once simply began as a name tied to my birthday, has evolved into this brand rooted in storytelling and expression. I can't wait to see how it continues to unfold and I thank you for travelling along with me.

To make sure you stay up to date with all the things I'm up to be sure to sign up to my mailing list!
