I offer two types of pet portraits- digital pet portraits and watercolour pet portraits.
My watercolour portraits are one of a kind originals that I paint by hand. You will receive the one and only, original copy of the artwork to treasure forever.
My digital portraits are still hand-drawn by myself, I just do this on an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil. Given the artwork is digital you can print more than one copy of it. This means you can actually share the portrait with loved ones by printing multiple copies in various sizes.
I will actually give you 5 different copies of your digital artwork that are cropped to slightly different aspect ratios so that you can put your portrait in practically any frame you like.
Basically, my digital portraits give you the flexibility of multiple copies and share-ability whereas, my watercolour portraits are extra special because there will only ever be one copy of them.
The option you choose ultimately comes down to what you plan to do with your portrait, what's important to you, and which style you prefer aesthetically.
I don't need to see your pet in person, I just need you to send some nice clear photos of your pet for me to paint from.
Not sure what photos to send in? I've written this article which may help!
That depends on how many other people have ordered a pet portrait before you. Typically your pet portrait can be completed in about 2 weeks but in busier periods such as the lead up to Christmas, you could be looking at waiting for a couple of months.
I'll let you know how long the queue is when you email me a photo of your pet. However getting in sooner is always better to avoid disappointment.
When creating your pet portrait, I use a CMYK colour profile, which basically means I'm using colours that are compatible with the average printer. Using a CMYK colour palette mitigates a lot of the differences you may see between the colours you see on your screen and the colours you see printed out. It is important to note that some variation in colours may still exist due to differences in monitor and printer calibrations. The quality of the printed artwork will ultimately depend on the type of paper and printer used to print it.
Don't want to mess with printing your digital artwork yourself? Don't worry! Colour-matched, fine art prints can be organised for you.
